Installation & Setup
Nora is currently available exclusively for MacOS. Installation is very simple — you can start using it in just a few steps.
1. Download
Nora can only be downloaded from the official landing page.
Visit the Nora landing page in your web browser and click the Download for MacOS button at the top or center of the page.
The installation file (
.dmg) will begin downloading.
2. Installation
Double-click the downloaded Nora.dmg file.
In the installation window, drag the Nora icon into the Applications folder.
Open the Applications folder and launch Nora.
3. Granting Permissions on First Launch
Due to MacOS security policies, you may need to follow these steps the first time you run Nora:
If you see a message saying “Unverified developer,” go to
System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General tab and click “Allow Anyway.”
After this, Nora will launch normally.
4. Login & Basic Setup
Once Nora is open, you’ll go through a brief initial setup:
Login: Sign in with your existing account or create a new one.
Default Model Selection: Choose your preferred AI model as the default (you can change this anytime).
Shortcut Activation Check: Make sure Nora’s default shortcuts (e.g.,
Option + Q,Option + W) do not conflict with existing MacOS shortcuts.
5. Getting Started with Nora
You’re all set!
You can now summon Nora anytime using the menu bar icon or keyboard shortcuts.
Start using its core features right away — the Sidebar, Quick Modal, and Clipboard Manager — to work seamlessly without breaking your flow.
